Following to the test done by the Consumer Council Report, illycaffè specifies that the company respects all the food safety regulations and controls its products and supply, in compliance with the rules and regulations governing the agri-food sector, developing sophisticated monitoring systems. 100% of production is carried out in plants that are certified according to internationally recognized food safety management and quality standards. The British Retail Consortium (BRC), International Food Standard (IFC) and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) certifications constitute the guidelines for all the activities that are carried out by the company to guarantee consumer health and safety and are applied to all illycaffè products. illy coffee is made out of different selected types of Arabica coffees, all previously submitted to phytosanitary and chemical analysis, both in public laboratories and in private ones authorized for self-analysis by the public authority.
Based on the tests that the company periodically carries out to verify the healthiness of the product, the figures of the test do not correspond to the results of the company analyses.
illycaffè monthly monitoring on roasted coffee (which is available upon request) testified that the lead average of illy coffee is 0,009 mg/kg, which is lower than the 0,039 mg/kg indicated in the Consumer Council Report.
According to the international rules, illycaffè declares in its technical product sheet and labelled on every can that decaffeinated coffee has a “caffeine content not higher than 0.1 %” on dry matter.
